Let’s take a second to talk about how excited we are about our true blue, gorgeously chic skincare packaging.
Here at DermYoung, we love to put our heart into everything we do. When we say everything, we mean absolutely everything. Each and every decision that we make is a reflection of who we want to be as a brand. We craft every detail with you in mind and that includes the choices we make about our product packaging. We bring you only the best because that’s exactly what you deserve.
A Drop In The Ocean
One of the most noticeable features of our beauty products is that they’re packaged in beautiful cobalt blue glass bottles. Not only do they look beautiful, they also serve an important function. DermYoung products are known for their fast-acting,long-lasting results which are conferred by our proprietary active ingredients. To better preserve the activity of these ingredients, we package them in the inert glass bottle with cobalt blue color and an extra layer of frost coating to keep out the deteriorating sunlight.
We have heard a lot of discussion about how packaging can sabotage your skincare. Open jars and bottles are not as good as airless pumps or tubes. It is true that the format of packaging is important, however, the materials of the packaging are equally or perhaps more important in regards to delivering the results products promise.
Plastic is the main material used in skincare product packaging. Thousands of chemicals and by-products are created in the process of manufacturing plastic, many of which we are not even aware of. When a plastic piece goes through thermal or PH fluctuation, more chemicals would be released. BPA, a well-known chemical in plastic packaging, may cause health concerns on the brain, behavior and prostate of fetuses, infants and children. It is also widely recognized now that most plastic leaches hormone-like chemicals. What about the other thousands of chemicals that have not been revealed? Would they hurt us too? We are so concerned about potential harmful effects of certain skincare ingredients, such as parabens, DEA and triclosan that many of us seem to be unaware of the chemicals really lurking in our skincare bottles.
Protecting The Blue
Another huge reason we chose glass bottles was to reduce our carbon footprint on the world. We really, really hate plastic and the damage it does to the Earth while it’s being created. The chemicals released when plastic is placed in the landfill instead of being recycled can also harm the environment and the wildlife around it. Almost all glass is 100 percent recyclable and it is just as valuable when reused. And since glass is inert, it won’t leak into the environment like plastic. Knowing that we are doing all we can to reduce our footprint on the Earth is an important aspect of our identity and the way we would like to continue to move during the future.
Staying True To The Hue
If you haven’t gotten a chance to experience a beauty product in a blue bottle, you’ll definitely notice the difference right away. We not only provide truly effective products for your beauty needs, but also take your safety and wellness into consideration every step of way. We also make it a point to choose materials that help continue us on our journey to caring for our environment for years to come.
